Free Consultation Policy Purpose: The purpose of the 15-minute consultation is to provide prospective clients with an opportunity to briefly discuss their needs, ask questions about my therapeutic approach, and determine whether my services may be a good fit. This consultation is not a therapy session and does not establish a therapeutic relationship. 1. Nature of the Consultation The consultation is a complimentary, one-time, 15-minute phone or video call. It is intended for informational purposes only and does not involve clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment. No therapeutic advice or intervention will be provided during this consultation. 2. No Therapeutic Relationship Established Participating in a consultation does not create a client-therapist relationship. A therapeutic relationship is only established once all intake paperwork is completed, informed consent is signed, and the first paid session has occurred. 3. Confidentiality Information shared during the consultation will be treated confidentially to the extent permitted by law. However, since this is not a formal therapeutic relationship, the same level of clinical confidentiality and record-keeping requirements may not apply. If at any point during the consultation a person expresses intent to harm themselves or others, or reports abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult, appropriate emergency services and/or mandated reporting procedures will be initiated in accordance with legal and ethical obligations. 4. Missed consultations or cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may not be rescheduled. 5. Limitations The consultation is not appropriate for mental health emergencies or crisis situations. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
